Privacy Policy
Effective August 15, 2026
Keptword does not collect personal data from the app. There is no Keptword account, advertising, analytics, tracking, cloud transcription, or Keptword-operated server receiving your recordings or notes.
What happens to microphone audio
When you deliberately start a recording, microphone audio is processed transiently on your iPhone by Apple’s on-device speech technology to create a transcript. Keptword does not save an audio recording to disk and does not transmit microphone audio to us.
Transcripts and briefs
Transcripts, generated briefs, marked moments, titles, and preferences are stored locally in the app’s protected container on your iPhone. Briefs use Apple’s on-device Foundation Models when Apple Intelligence is available. Keptword does not receive this content.
Permissions
Keptword requests microphone and speech-recognition access only when needed for its core transcription feature. You can change these permissions in iOS Settings. If access is disabled, recording and transcription cannot operate.
Retention and deletion
Your saved notes remain on your iPhone until you delete individual recordings in Keptword or remove the app. Keptword may keep a temporary local transcript checkpoint during an active session so your words can be recovered after an interruption. That checkpoint is removed when the session is completed or discarded.
Exports
When you choose Export, iOS presents the system share sheet. The destination you select may have its own privacy practices. Keptword does not control or receive the exported content.
Children
Keptword is a general-purpose productivity tool. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children.
